NEO House Church Network is characterized by these attributes:
- We value the small group over the large meeting. The focus is on food, fellowship, prayer, and Bible instruction.
- The large meeting enables us to see our various house church members all together. The focus is on celebration, prayer, and vision casting.
- We focus on equipping and releasing the laity to minister and initiate. Leaders equip.
- Pastors and leaders facilitate, but do not dominate, the content of our house church meetings.
- Teaching often is exegetical and participatory. Everyone contributes and fuels the study with questions.
- Mission is our passion. Making disciples, engaging the lost, and serving the weak, as well as traveling to the nations of the earth.
- We hunger after deepening prayer lives. We desire to walk in God’s manifest presence that prayer invites.
- The Biblical supernatural is a daily expectation.
- We revel in the scriptures…engaging the Bible both for God’s self-revelation to us and for how we are to obey.
- Community and relationship building, not spectating in a service. It is hard work that yields lasting fruit.
- Worship is engaging God in prayer, gratitude, and celebration. Music is secondary and the “big show” is definitely out.
- Discipleship is relational and rarely in a classroom. It is authoritative but not authoritarian.
- Gender neither qualifies or disqualifies for effective Kingdom impact…only faithfulness does.
- Leadership is based on effective, Spirit-empowered character and action, not mere position. Leaders must never be “a turtle on a fence post” where everyone wonders how he got there.
- We extend liberty to one another and refuse to “bind one another’s conscience” to non-essential issues and practices.
